I’m a self-taught hybrid woodworker (use hand tools and power tools). I struggle with chronic health issues and needed to be able to work from home. So, having a little bit of carpentry experience and being detail oriented, moving into woodworking felt natural. I’ve always loved working with my hands and creating things. One of my favorite things about woodworking is that you’re pretty much only limited by your imagination. I continue to enjoy learning new techniques and processes to improve my skills. I have a long list of project ideas so stay tuned, there’s more to come!
My logo was inspired by a sketch by my friend, Scott.

I have always been interested in art. In high school I started drawing portraits in pencil and later moved into pastels then paint. I would draw and paint when I could, but life got busy: working, marriage, raising three children, gardening, etc.
When covid hit and we were on lock down I felt God leading me to paint again. I never had so much time to paint. It was amazing! When I sit and paint, I have such peace and time flies. I love it.
In 2026 I joined the Peoria Art Guild and was asked if I was interested in teaching a painting class. I called the class “Painting with the Masters”. It was a four-week class. Each week we studied the techniques of an artis and copied a painting of the artist. For example, the first week we painted Starry Night while learning Van Gogh’s impasto paint style. The students ranged from never having painted to some who were very good. Everyone rose to the challenge and put their own spin on their paintings. We had a great time and hopefully they learned a few painting tips along the way. I hope to teach again in the fall, but in the meantime, I will continue to try different styles and paint what interests me.
